We are proud to announce that several members competed in the Annual Bi County Dairy Judging Contest on Tuesday March 31st, at the St Joseph County Fairgrounds.
The Team of Hannah Klopfenstein, Dan Hummell and Melonie Roberts placed first in their division and were also that high point team in the entire contest.
In addition the other John Glenn team of Hayden Redlin, Jeanna Hathaway and Mike Snyder ended up as the 2nd place team.
As individuals, John Glenn was honored to have all of our members competing end up as 6 of the top 9 individuals.
The individuals were honored as follows:Jeanna Hathaway - 1st Place; Dan Hummell - 2nd; Hannah Klopfenstein 3rd; Melonie Roberts 6th; Mike Snyder 7th; Hayden Redlin 9th.
Special thanks to Greg Klopfenstein for all his help and advice in preparing our members for this great day.
Next the team will compete at the Area X Contest at LaPorte on April 21st.

Congratulations to the John Glenn FFA Proficiency award winners. On Feb 2nd the District 2 Proficiencies were judged at Tippecanoe Valley High School. These proficiency applications are based on the students Supervised Agricultural Experience programs. John Glenn FFA members competed in 11 proficiency areas, of these 7 placed first, 2 placed 2nd, 1 placed 3rd and 1 placed 4th.

Ag Mechanics Energy Systems - Jeanna Hathaway - 1st
Ag Processing- Maggie Shoue- 1st
Diversified Livestock Production- Emily Thomas -1st
Small Animal Production - Maggie Shoue - 1st - Tara McGee - 2nd
Vegetable Production - Mackenzi Lowry- 1st
Sheep Production - Grace Murphy - 1st - Lauren Kipper 3rd
Beef Production - Hannah Klopfenstein - 4th
Veterinary Science - Adrienne Erickson- 2nd
All of these 1st place winners will now advance to state competition. In addition there are 7 other proficiency applications that automatically advance to the state level after winning district 2 competition last year. This means a grand total of 14 proficiency applications from our school will be in the running for state championships.
Also for the 3rd year in a row, John Glenn FFA is the home of a District 2 Star.
Eric Burch was named the District 2 Star in Agribusiness for his Ag Sales and Vegetable production enterprises.
Eric will represent District II in the next level of competition which is the Section 1 contest which is made up of all of northern Indiana. Congratulations to Eric! We wish him the best of luck as he continues to compete in the State Star selection process!
Recently members of the Chapter Meeting Contest added two more big wins to their impressive lists of accomplishments. They were fortunate to come out on top of the District II contest to earn the right to move on to the Section I contest. There they competed against the top teams from Districts I II and III, we are proud to announce that they were to be named the Section Champion and will compete in the elite eight at the state finals at Purdue University in June. This is the second consectutive year that a John Glenn team has earned this special honor.
Also we are proud to announce that the novice chapter meeting team competed and were 1st at the District II contest. At the Section contest they ended up a very strong 3rd place. This team was made up of freshman and we are truly proud of their hard work and great attitudes!
